Euphoriaseason 3 has come and gone — with no prospects of another return.
The HBO drama first premiered in 2019, based on a 2012 Israeli miniseries of the same name. Though the show was renewed for a third season in 2022 — while its second season was airing — production didn't begin until three years later, resulting in a significant time jump for its colorful cast of problematic characters.
“With this season, we wanted to open up the aspect ratio — we wanted to tell the story, but in a less subjective way," creator Sam Levinson told TheWrapin April 2026. "We didn't want to be inside of the characters as much. We wanted to see them existing in the world and in life.”
Season 3 of Euphoria found Cassie (Sydney Sweeney) trying her hand at OnlyFans while planning her wedding to Nate (Jacob Elordi), and Maddy (Alexa Demie) and Lexi (Maude Apatow) pursuing careers in Hollywood. Meanwhile, Jules (Hunter Schafer) experiments in the world of escorting, and Rue (Zendaya) remains entangled in the drug trade — all in all, a far cry from where fans met them in season 1.
After some of the cast teased that the third installment of the drama would be its last, HBO confirmed to The New York Times that the show was officially over.

Speaking to The New York Times in June 2026, Levinson revealed that Euphoria has reached its conclusion.
“In terms of the story that we set out to tell, which is a story about addiction and its consequences, this feels like the end to me,” he said.
In addition, HBO confirmed to the outlet that Euphoria season 3 finale was, in fact, the series finale.

Levinson had previously opened up about his creative process.
“I've always written every season like it's the last season," he told TheWrap. "Season 1 she does the drugs. We go to this musical number. I'm happy … and if this is it, this is it.”
Thecreator continued, “I really try to maintain that kind of mentality when working where I don't get ahead of myself — I don't look too much in the future. I don't go, ‘Well, what if this happens and that happens?' I keep the blinders on, keep my head down, and I just want to deliver the best season possible for audiences.”
What has the cast of Euphoria said about the show?
Euphoria stars, like Zendaya, had given stronger hints that season 3 would be the end of the series.
During an April 2026 appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, host Drew Barrymore asked her if the third season was actually the last.
"I think so," the actress said, adding that “closure is coming.”
Following Zendaya's interview, Levinson responded to her suggestion that the series would end with season 3 and reiterated that he had "no plans" for a fourth.
“I want to finish this as strong as I can," he told Varietyin April 2026. "I'm cutting [episodes] 7 and 8 still. I'm putting some finishing touches. I just want to deliver a f---ing slam dunk season.”
