The Top Chefalum Eric Adjepong reportedly broke the restraining order against his ex-wife, Janell Mack. The alleged violation reportedly occurred a day after the court issued the restraining order.

A court filing alleges Eric Adjepong violated the terms of a protective order

Eric Adjepong, who was ordered by the court not to contact his ex-wife by “any means,” reportedly violated the order a day after the court’s decision.

Adjepong reportedly texted Mack through the parenting app “OurFamilyWizard,” asking her to FaceTime him.

According to TMZ, Eric shared through his lawyer, “The alleged violation entailed Mr. Adjepong contacting his ex-wife regarding their daughter through the OurFamilyWizard app, a court-mandated communications app used during the parties’ divorce and custody proceedings. The alleged violation was dismissed because the court recognized that the required method of communication was the OurFamilyWizard app, creating a conflict with the protective order.”

The Food Network show host also shared a statement regarding the alleged court violation. He said, “The past several weeks have been among the most difficult of my life. I have remained silent not because I lacked a response, but because I believe integrity is measured by how you conduct yourself when your character is being questioned. Others can choose rhetoric. I will choose truth.”

Soon after he allegedly violated the order, he was summoned by the court not to contact his ex-wife. The restraining order remained in effect through February 2025.

Separately, court records reported in July 2026 show that Adjepong’s daughter was granted a one-year protective order after abuse allegations.

However, reportedly there were no criminal charges against Bravo’s Top Chef finalist.

The allegations were reported to Child and Family Services, who found no evidence that the incident had occurred. However, the court issued a one-year protective order for Lennox in July. He was ordered to stay away from the child after the final hearing on July 10. Janell took to Instagram to share a statement about the restraining order. She said, “My daughter was just granted a protective order against her father because she was brave enough to speak up against who should have been one of the most trusted adults in her life.”

The couple got married in 2017 and separated in 2021. The legal matter continues to draw public scrutiny after the Top Chef star revealed violating the restraining order.
