Bruce Willisand Demi Moore’s daughter, actress Rumer Willis, has some pretty strong opinions—and she is not afraid to let fans know. The 37-year-old single mom recently took to Instagram, posting a video amid a very public breastfeeding backlash.

Celebrity mom-shaming isn’t exactly new. From Ashley Graham to Mila Kunis, plenty of famous mommies have felt the public’s wrath. And while some mamas shy away from the spotlight. Others (like Willis) stand up for themselves.

Why is the public mom-shaming Rumer Willis?

This isn’t the first time the mom has faced breastfeeding backlash. Back in 2023, Willis shared a pic of herself nursing her then-four-month-old daughter, Louetta Isley Thomas Willis (a.k.a. Lou), at the beach. Some commenters took issue with the new mom’s Instagram Stories clip, criticizing her for revealing a private moment. Willis clapped back, letting everyone know that she had absolutely no shame about breastfeeding in public.

Fast-forward to 2026, and Willis is experiencing some major deja vu. Despite making it clear that she celebrates her ability to breastfeed, it looks like some people still have a problem with it. The actress continues to nurse her almost-three-year-old (Lou’s birthday is April 18), and has some strong words for her critics.

What did Rumer Willis post about breastfeeding on Instagram?

In her latest video, Willis starts by showing herself nursing Lou. The statement, “When someone starts judging my parenting,” is written over the image, and the caption reads, “Sorry not sorry.”

The post also includes an ‘instructional’ Venn diagram TikTok clip that perfectly illustrates how Willis appears to feel. The woman in the video begins with two circles, “This is my business, and this is yours.” She goes on to draw an “X” in the “my business” circle and says, “I am here. The problem is…You are also here. When you need to be…here.” And if you’re wondering where here is, it’s in the “your business” circle.

What happened after the mom posted her breastfeeding clip?

And so the backlash begins…again. Commenters piled on Willis's post, adding their takes on the mom’s views. One wrote, “By posting your private moment with your daughter, you are making it everyone’s business.”

Of course, it wasn’t all negative. Plenty of the mom’s fans backed her up with comments such as, “She’s making people accept long-term breastfeeding. Normal for thousands of years. Except the last 100, the years of marketing,” and, “I think it’s great seeing moms advocate for breastfeeding. At the end of the day, fed is best, however, I know a lot of women who quit nursing because of the lack of support from other women.”
