Sir Richard Branson thanked fans for sharing "such kind messages" about his late wife Joan
He shared a pair of photos of the couple together and shared how the family is doing now, two weeks after her death
Branson announced on Nov. 26 that Joan died at the age of 80, and several people shared tributes to her following the news
Sir Richard Branson is sharing his gratitude to fans two weeks after the death of his wife Joan Templeman.
The Virgin Group founder, 75, thanked fans in an Instagram post on Monday, Dec. 8, for their ākindā tributes to his late wife Joan ā who died at the age of 80, he announced on Nov. 25 ā alongside throwback photos of the pair.
In the first snap, he and Joan are seen taking a stroll side by side as Joan wrapped her arms around Bransonās. The couple beamed at the camera as they wore matching black outfits.
In a second photo, the billionaire businessman laughed as he put his hands on both sides of his wifeās head as she sat down. She also smiled, as the pair matched in white outfits.

āThank you to everyone who has shared such kind messages about Joan,ā Branson wrote alongside the photos.
āOur whole family are so touched by the outpouring of love,ā he continued. āIt brings us great comfort and it means so much to us all. Weāre the kind of family that now just want to celebrate Joan and the wonderful life she lived.ā
He went on to say that he was āso fortunate to have metā his wife āall those years agoā because of the light and happiness she brought into his life.
āShe was just a joy to be around - as so many of your messages reiterated,ā he said. āSending big hugs to everyone who has been in contact. And to anyone who has lost a family member recently, our thoughts (and Joanās thoughts, Iām sure) are with you as well.ā
Branson announced the news of Joanās death alongside a photo of his beloved wife dressed in a red dress smiling at the camera. He described her as āthe most wonderful mum and grandmum our kids and grandkids could have ever wished forā and āmy best friend, my rock, my guiding light, my world.ā
Several of Joanās loved ones, including her and Bransonās son Sam Branson, paid tribute to her following her death. On Instagram, Sam called his mother āthe kindest, most loving, warm and abundantly generous woman to walk this Earth.ā
