Prince William and Prince Harry may be spared an uncomfortable reunion at a family wedding. A source claims Lady Amelia Windsor has invited William and Kate Middleton to her wedding next May, while Harry and Meghan Markle are said to have missed out on the invitation. The reported guest list could keep the warring brothers from crossing paths altogether. And given the attention that still follows their relationship, that might be exactly what the family needs.

The Sun reports that Lady Amelia Windsor has sent “save the date” notices to Prince William and Kate Middleton, but not Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Amelia is engaged to property developer Ollie Lewis. The couple is allegedly planning their wedding for next May. The reported guest list could have an unintended benefit. It may save William and Harry from an uncomfortable encounter on what is supposed to be a family celebration.

The brothers have barely appeared together since Harry stepped back from royal duties. Their last meeting was at King Charles’ coronation in May 2023. Had Harry attended Amelia’s wedding, it could have marked their first face-to-face reunion in more than three years.

However, a source claimed Amelia was never planning to bring that moment to her big day. Speaking to The Sun, the insider alleged that she had already drawn up her guest list before Harry and Markle’s plans to visit the UK became known.

“She isn’t close to the couple,” the source said. The insider added that their absence could ultimately be a good thing because it would “save an awkward run-in between the brothers” during the celebration.

There is apparently some history behind the decision, too. Amelia was not invited to Harry and Markle’s 2018 wedding. The source therefore claimed she has no obligation to include them in her own nuptials.

Amelia is the granddaughter of the Duke of Kent and is 45th in line to the throne. She has also developed a profile beyond the royal family. The 31-year-old has modeled for Chanel and Dolce & Gabbana and is known for her interest in environmental causes.
