Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s love story started back in 2016 after a chance encounter on Instagram. However, their very first date almost turned into an embarrassing moment when Harry showed up late.

After they were introduced through mutual friends, the two connected on Instagram before setting up their first face-to-face meeting. After their engagement, the Duke of Sussex shared details about those early days.

Meghan Reveals Harry Arrived Half an Hour Late to Their First Date

Recalling how Harry first noticed her, he said, “I was scrolling through my feed and someone who was a friend had this video of the two of them, it was like a Snapchat, and it’s with doggy ears and that was the first thing, it was like who is that?”

The mother of two explained, “We got each other’s numbers, and we were just constantly in touch, and I went, ‘Let’s meet.'”

They chose to meet at 76 Dean Street in London and went on several dates.

The Suits star recalled that Harry was half an hour late to their first date. While it could have been an awkward mistake, she noticed he was “so sweet” and “genuinely so embarrassed” about being late.

“He was just so fun,” Meghan added, per The Irish Star.

“Just so refreshingly fun. And that was the thing, we were like childlike together.”

Prince Harry revealed that about three to four weeks later, he “managed to persuade her” to travel to Botswana, where they camped together under the stars.

The recent reports revealed that Harry and Meghan have moved back to the U.K., but according to the latest report by The Daily Express US, the two have faced a major setback just weeks after their return.

Just a few weeks into their stay, royal commentator Dickie Arbiter revealed on TalkTV with host Jeremy Kyle that the couple might leave Britain soon.

This news comes amid reports that the Duke and Duchess were “surprised” by King Charles’s official notice stating that they will be treated strictly as “private citizens”.

Reports indicate the couple was not given time to clear up details before the media received the official guidance.

During the show, Jeremy commented, “This preconceived belief they were going to come back and they were going to come back and the King released this letter via Lord Chamberlain. Do you think this will mean they won’t last long in the U.K. It will be temporary. How long do you think they will be here?”

Dickie replied, “I’m not sure they are here long-term. I firmly believe that they will go back to Montecito for Christmas because that’s where her mother is. Everybody talks about reconciliation with the King but what about reconciliation with Thomas Markle.”

The news of their potential departure sparked strong reactions online. One user wrote, “This is and always been the plan IMO. Why does citizen H think that citizen M would enjoy the racist cruel UK this time when she didn’t last time.”
