Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's relocation back to the UK could prove "hell" for Princess Kate, according to a royal commentator.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have relocated to the country following six years residing in California, where they raised their children Archie and Lilibet, now aged five and seven.

Tensions are already escalating following their arrival. King Charles delivered a surprising letter making clear that Harry and Meghan remain private citizens, not working royals.

In their response, the Sussexes expressed surprise at the letter and stated they were not "told about this in advance".

It has also been revealed that Harry is organizing multiple public engagements. Consequently, several royal experts are indicating that Harry and Meghan's UK relocation could prove problematic for Princess Kate.

In her column for News.au, royal expert Daniela Elser cautioned: "It does not appear the Sussexes have any plans to sit quietly in the shires to reclusively collect delphinium cuttings and rescue dogs."

She continued: "For Kate, what are the chances of Harry and Meghan's off-brand royalling not stealing all the available thunder?".

As Harry prepares to conduct multiple public appearances, The Times has also indicated that Meghan intends to pursue charity work of her own.

This development arrives as the royals conclude their summer break and get ready to undertake multiple public outings.

Ms Elser added: "Kate's new working royal year is shaping up to be hell."

The Sun's Royal Editor, Hugo Vickers, has cautioned that Harry's appearances may overshadow William's official duties.

He explained: "The awful thing is that whenever they come to this country, if Prince William is doing one thing and Prince Harry is doing another, it will be interpreted as a competition-even if Prince Harry does not intend it to be.

"Therefore, it becomes a distraction. I don't quite know what they want to do, but presumably, they want to raise their profile.

"If they intend to be public figures and carry out more of these appearances, they will inevitably compete with the royal family-effectively setting up an alternative court. That is not a positive development."
