Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet have changed schools just days after the school year has started following security concerns over the journey. The news of the switch was first revealed in Hello! magazine, which said that the distance and traffic to and from their first choice school put their small private security team “under strain.”

“The decision for the children to move school was taken following a discussion with the family’s security team about the practicalities of their current arrangements,” a spokesperson for Harry and Meghan confirmed to media this evening. “The parents remain extremely grateful to all the teachers and staff for the love, care and effort they have shown their family. This decision should in no way be interpreted as a reflection on the school or the exceptional care the children have received there.”

The names of Archie and Lilibet’s original school and their new school have not been revealed due to privacy and security concerns. The Sussexes have also worked with the UK’s press regulator to keep the location of their home private.

However, Meghan gave a glimpse into their new life this weekend in a post on Instagram showing footage of the family in the countryside. There was no caption, but she put Union flag and heart emojis over the video.

Stories also emerged this evening that both Harry and Meghan will now receive a security review from the UK government committee responsible for determining security arrangements for royals and VIPs. Harry previously lost a legal battle to have his UK security reviewed, but the question of what protection is necessary has become front and center since he moved back to his home country.

Hello! magazine reported that Archie, 7, and Lilibet, 5, will start in a new school after visiting for a taster session Monday.
