Practical Magic 2’s Post-Credits Scene Status Is Exactly Like Part 1

Practical Magic 2 debuts in theaters this Friday, and fans are wondering whether the movie has a post- or mid-credits scene. Notably, Practical Magic 2 is the sequel to the 1998 feature Practical Magic, which was an adaptation of Alice Hoffman’s eponymous book. The second movie is based on 2021’s The Book of Magic, the sequel to Hoffman’s original novel.

Does Practical Magic 2 have any post-credits scenes at the end?

Practical Magic 2 doesn’t have a post-credits scene, just like the first movie didn’t. The narrative ends when the credits start rolling.

This might disappoint some fans, as they were probably looking for hints that the franchise would continue. In franchise filmmaking, post- and mid-credits scenes often tease a future entry with a clip. Disney franchises such as Star Wars and the Marvel Cinematic Universe constantly use them in their storytelling. Warner Bros. Pictures is distributing Practical Magic 2, and several of their projects have effectively used post-credits scenes. So, it was understandable that fans would hope that Practical Magic would include one as well.

However, even though a post-credits scene is absent from the movie, that doesn’t mean another entry in the series can’t happen. Ultimately, it all comes down to how critics and the general audience receive the movie. If it does well, a third one will definitely be on the cards.

Unfortunately, Practical Magic 2 has garnered mostly negative reviews ahead of its release. It currently has a 35% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Anna McKibbin of AV Club shared, “The stakes were high when it came to releasing Practical Magic 2, but fans will no doubt fall in love with this next chapter of the story.”

Despite the disappointing performance with critics, the movie can still do well in theaters. There has been considerable interest surrounding the Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman-starring feature.
