An employee recalled seeing the victim’s head and arms sticking out of the vent
No foul play is suspected, and an investigation is ongoing
A man was found hanging from an HVAC vent by employees at a soul food restaurant in Atlanta.
“All we seen was his head. That’s all. We could see his head and his arms,” an employee named Rick told ABC affiliate WSB about the gruesome discovery a female worker made on Sept. 14 at Walter’s Soul Food Cafe. “She came in and was hollering and screaming and telling me, ‘Rick! Look, look, look.’ ”
That Monday morning, just before 9 a.m. local time, officers were dispatched to 394 Cleveland Ave SW, the restaurant’s address, the Atlanta Police Department said in an alert.
When officials arrived, the owner told them an employee had found an unidentified man stuck in the kitchen vent. Police said the victim “was wedged inside the vent,” and Atlanta Fire Rescue pronounced him dead at the scene.

The employee who located the trapped man is traumatized, WSB reported. While the reason the man entered the vent has yet to be determined, the roofline of the adjacent gas station is close to a hill, making it relatively easy to climb up, according to the outlet.
