Gail Kim Explains Why She Rejected WWE Offer After Four-Week NXT Trial

Gail Kim recently revealed why she turned down WWE’s offer. The Hall of Famer completed a four-week NXT producer trial. Although the trial went well, she still walked away. Kim said the offer just wasn’t right for her.
Gail Kim explains why she rejected WWE’s NXT offer
Speaking on My World With Jeff Jarrett, Gail Kim answered questions about WWE and AEW. A fan also asked about a possible WWE Hall of Fame induction. Kim first made it clear she would accept a Hall of Fame honor.
She said, “I’ll never turn down a Hall of Fame because it’s an acknowledgement from your peers and, you know, from the industry.” Kim then revealed she completed a four-week producer trial with NXT. Kim said the experience went well and WWE offered her a job.
She explained, “I did do a 4-week trial producing period after I got fired from TNA last year. So I did that with NXT. It went well. I did get an offer, but I unfortunately had to turn it down because the circumstances let’s just say this, Jeff, you know, because the first time I left TNA is because I was offered a very, very low pay, and I had no choice but to leave TNA. I didn’t want to leave. I was crying when I had to leave TNA after, you know, all that.”
Gail Kim says entry level pay led her to decline WWE offer
Kim said the biggest issue was the overall situation. She explained the offer came with entry-level pay despite her experience. Kim said, “I was offered entry-level pay to go move away from my husband, and it was just not an ideal situation for me after having 20-plus years of experience. I just felt like I was just falling into another trap or, or a situation that was not beneficial to me.”

“So, I told myself at the end of that 4-week period, okay, I literally prayed to God, and I said, ‘Just let the answer be clear. I don’t want any blurry lines of, you know, the money’s almost there,’ ’cause I knew I’d have to move away from Robert for most of the week.”
“You know, we’d have very little time together. And, the answer was clear, you know, so it was an easy decision. I said, ‘Either I’m gonna do that, or I’m gonna go off in my own direction, and I’m gonna do my own thing.’ And so I’m gonna do my own thing, guys, so I love it.”
