- The trio also paid tribute to late angel Farrah Fawcett.

- The crime drama series ran from 1976 to 1981 and was nominated for four Emmys.

Kate Jackson, Jaclyn Smith, and Cheryl Ladd are looking quite angelic at the 2026 Emmys.

On Monday, Sept. 14, the *Charlie’s Angels* stars reunited at the awards show in honor of the crime drama’s 50th anniversary. The actresses took the stage at the Peacock Theater to present the Outstanding Drama Series award.

They also paid tribute to Farrah Fawcett, who died in 2009, during their reunion on Monday night. “I would like to acknowledge someone not standing with us tonight, and that’s my friend Farrah Fawcett,” Smith began as the crowd applauded the late actress. “As I said many times, charisma doesn’t need a second season. She’s here, and she’s here with us in everyone’s collective memory.”

Jackson added, “Farrah was the shiniest angel of all, and she was loved by millions of people all over the world, and she still is today. They’ll never forget her, and neither will we, and I’m sure you won’t either.”

“And her iconic poster lives in the minds, and the garages, of many a man,” Ladd quipped.

They then presented the Emmy to the winning drama series: *The Pitt*. The shows recognized in the category were: *The Diplomat*, *The Gilded Age*, *A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms*, *Paradise*,* Pluribus*, *Slow Horses*, and *Your Friends and Neighbors*.

*Charlie’s Angels *premiered in 1976 with Smith, Jackson, and Fawcett. When Fawcett exited the show after its first season, Ladd joined the cast in season 2 and stayed for the rest of its run.

Jackson exited after three seasons. Shelley Hack joined the series for season 4, and then was replaced by Tanya Roberts in the final season. Smith was the only *Angel *to appear on all five seasons.

Throughout its tenure, the show was nominated for four Emmys, including two nods for Jackson in the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series category.

The original crime drama show inspired the films *Charlie’s Angels* (2000) and *Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle* (2003), along with the 2019 reboot film *Charlie’s Angels*.

Jackson, Smith, and Ladd reunited earlier this year at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles as part of a PaleyFest event celebrating 50 years of *Charlie’s Angels*. “We were all such individual women, but women who really cared for each other. Just as the show was, we were there for each other,” Ladd said at the event.

Smith also spoke about the show’s impact, saying, “It was three women chasing danger instead of being rescued from it. Independent, not defined by the man in their life, and it gave women permission to step out of the mold.”

Smith, Jackson, and Fawcett previously reunited in 2006 at the Emmys to pay tribute to Aaron Spelling, the show’s executive producer who died that June. After Fawcett and Jackson said their part during the tribute, however, the teleprompter went blank when it was Smith’s turn.

“Oh boy, they don’t have my speech up,” Smith said quietly. Smith had her part of the speech memorized and was able to wrap up her portion of the tribute after a beat. Smith wrote about the teleprompter flub in her 2026 memoir, *I Once Knew a Guy Named Charlie*.

“I think the mishap with the teleprompter worked out for the best. When you read from a teleprompter, you have to keep looking at it. It feels stilted, less heartfelt. Since I was speaking from memory, I could be more natural and connect with the audience. I truly felt the words as I looked out at everyone in the theater,” she writes.

“It was a bittersweet moment, and I was grateful for the opportunity to join so many in honoring such a remarkable man,” she continues. “I was grateful, too, for the warm response from the audience, even after all those years. And it wasn’t just the theater audience who received us warmly.”

Smith adds that the 2006 Emmys moment put them back “in the public eye in a big way,” noting, “We may have lost Aaron, but apparently Spelling magic never fades.”
